The Week of the Young Child is a time to recognize that we are all responsible for enhancing children’s opportunities. During this week, we highlight our commitment to ensuring that each and every child has access to experiences at home, at child care, at school, and in the community that promote their early learning and a lifetime of success.

Without reliable, affordable, high-quality early care and education services, it is difficult for parents to work, go to school, and attend job training. San Francisco’s families deserve increased access to high-quality early childhood programs in order to provide for their families and maintain self-sufficiency.

Budget cuts to services for children and families stunt the learning and growth of California’s children, and prevent families from working and contributing to California’s economy.
